PLAY BALL 2025!

Hello Baseball Fans,

Happy New MLB Season!!  It is mid-March and Opening Day 2025 is technically mere hours away!  The Chicago Cubs will ‘host’ the Los Angeles Dodgers at the Tokyo Dome in Tokyo, Japan at 6:10 a.m. EST on the Tuesday and Wednesday mornings of March 18 and 19, respectively.  Following the fun across the Pacific Ocean, MLB will have another six days of Spring Training and Exhibition games vs. non-MLB clubs as well. PLAY BALL!!

Then, on Thursday, March 27th, we will have fourteen MLB games to launch the new season into orbit.  You may be wondering why only fourteen games.  Are the Dodgers and Cubs and ‘resting’ since they already played two regular season games?  No, they are in action that day.  The Colorado Rockies will travel to Florida to take on the Tampa Bay Rays on Friday, March 28th.  The game will be a feature of sorts as first pitch is set for 4:10 p.m. EST from George M. Steinbrenner Field, the New York Yankees’ Spring Training home stadium.  The Rockies have yet to name their number one starting pitcher, but the Rays are set with Shane McClanahan as the dominant lefty returns after missing 2024 due to Tommy John surgery on his left elbow.  PLAY BALL!!

As the season gets underway, we will have many things to look forward to of course as all the teams are fresh, excited, and in the pennant race at the onset.  We also have some questions: When will Shohei Ohtani pitch?  Will Ronald Acuna Jr. have all of his all-around greatness intact following his return from a second ACL surgery (one on each knee, he should be back in mid-May timeframe)?  Can Mike Trout stay healthy in his new position in rightfield?  Will the White Sox lose less than 120 games (they came up short 121 times on 2024)?  Will the athletic and strong-armed Joey Gallo be successful in converting to a pitcher after being released by those same White Sox this Spring and after hitting just .161 last year for Washington Nationals? What will the crowds be like for the Athletics as they welcome the Chicago Cubs for their home opener on March 31st (the opener is sold out at Sutter Health Park in Sacramento).  Will the New York Mets dominate the New York city headlines with all their spending and suspected winning?  PLAY BALL!!

Enjoy the 2025 Season Baseball Fans.
